G Wayne Clough Tech Promise Program General Policies
- The program is based on a basic concept of the Institution agreeing to meet full need minus a $2,500 self help component that can be met with a work study opportunity. You may choose not to accept the work opportunity and/or you may choose to accept a $2,500 Federal Direct Loan in its place. Regardless of the choice of self help, all "gift" aid offers from any source received after our initial award will result in a reduction of the Institute's "gift" portion of your original offer
- You must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA. This will be monitored each semester
- You must be considered an "on time" applicant
- Maximum Terms of Participation:
- Students entering as freshmen - You will be eligible to participate in the program the first eight (8) semesters of full time enrollment. You may not defer participation.
- Transfer students - Term limits will be assessed on an individual basis, but the maximum is the first six (6) terms of full time enrollment. You may not defer participation.
- You will be eligible for one term of study abroad covering approved costs minus the expected family contribution and the equivalent of one semester "self help" expectation. This term will count as one of the eight terms of eligibility, even if you are not enrolled full time. Additional semesters of study abroad will be funded at the regular on-campus cost of attendance.
- Must be pursuing your first undergraduate degree.
- Must be eligible to apply for and receive Federal financial aid
- Must be classified as a legal resident of Georgia for tuition assessment purposes
- Eligible candidates are dependent students whose parental income is less than $33,300 and whose parents qualified to file an IRS form 1040A or 1040EZ for the previous tax filing year. Officers/owners of C-Corps are ineligible. Students classified as "independent" due to orphan status will be reviewed for eligibility on an individual basis.
- Must be enrolled as a full time student. Exceptions will be made for study abroad programs that do not require full time enrollment but the term will count towards maximum term limit
